The 2025 season in the Yarra Valley began early for us, with unusually warm late winter weather prompting a swift budburst. Following a series of cooler, wetter vintages, the return to drier, more stable conditions was welcomed in our vineyards. Vines thrived in the mild spring, producing healthy canopies and balanced, generous yields.
A warm, dry summer saw harvest commence around 10 days earlier than usual. Fortunately, the season remained calm and consistent, allowing us to work methodically through each variety and fine-tune picking decisions for optimal ripeness and flavour development - rare in a warm vintage.
This careful timing is reflected in the quality of our wines. Our 2025 Chardonnay shows brilliant focus, with trademark Yarra Valley acidity underpinning layers of citrus fruit and subtle texture. Pinot Noir is equally compelling, combining intensity and structure with fragrant aromatics.
2025 was a season that allowed us to take our time. The result is a suite of wines that are vibrant, expressive and balanced. With excellent quality and pleasing yields, 2025 will be a standout vintage for Santolin Wines, offering both immediate enjoyment and great aging potential.
