2015 Santolin Chardonnay ‘Yarraland’ Vineyard


Textural and rich with funky aromas and supple mouthfeel. Complex flavours of hazelnut, fig and toast.


This 2015 Chardonnay is produced from fruit grown on a single block from the Yarraland vineyard in Chirnside Park, Lower Yarra Valley. It has been crafted with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation, no fining and only a single filtration before bottling.

Vintage 2015 had a perfect growing season resulting in one of the best vintages we have seen in recent times. A mild spring with a few significant rainfall events was followed by a dry and warm summer creating ideal ripening conditions.

Hand picking commenced on March 10th 2015. The fruit was chilled overnight then whole bunch pressed and the juice went straight to a mixture of new and used French oak barrels. A small portion of the grapes were fermented on skins to add texture and mouthfeel. The wine stayed on lees until blended and received a single, gentle filtration prior to bottling.

TA: 6.5g/l

Cellaring: 5-7 years

Fermentation: Wild Ferment in oak

Oak Maturation: 10 months in 100% French oak – 30% new

Total Production: 250 dozen
